1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

A convention is something; maybe a certain title or image which is typical for a magazine. Examples of this on a front cover would include; An image such as a portrait shot of a band or singular model, the title of the magazine for example, NME with its iconic red lettering and bold letters and a few sub titles which may include something along the lines of "Top 10 artists this month", it is also vital for the main image on the front cover to be clearly seen and not covered or obstructed by any titles or other images - this is called layout convention.My media product does not challenge the general concept of layout convention, it very much conforms to it, it has a typical standard portrait shot as the main focus point of the front cover, a bold viewable title and a few sub titles.All magazines if not all a high majority of these magazines follow this trend. Even magazines which differ HUGELY in genre still follow these basic principles for example;

The magazine on the left is seen in terms of genre a more indie music based magazine, the right though is seen as a more pop music based magazine, even though the magazines differ in genre and music taste, they still follow the concept of layout convention.
